Innovations in Sana’s PRV
By now it must have been already known that we are always into innovative products as Sana’s PRV & Sana’s SCS are completely different from others with latest & upgraded technology …… but our Production Team keeps researching and reciprocates to different feedbacks we get from our Sales Team through the end users. We have made some Innovative Changes into our existing PRV’s. Strainers are also in Process and soon it will be launched as its under testing and being monitored daily to check the performance.
1. Replacement of the body Material
We are the first PRV manufacturers to make PRV in SS-304 making it Lead Free / Life Long / Rust Free. Detail Comparison between Brass & SS-304 has already been explained in our Product technical information.
2. Replacement of the transparent filter cap
Now a days there are some changes in the Architecture of the building, the duct area has some gap through which the Sunlight passes inside, resulting in forming of ALGAE inside the PRV’s Transparent Filter Cap, this is because when Water, Plastic and Sunlight react together to form algae inside & on the wall of PRV’s Filter Cap which is very Unhealthy and not advisable to use water passing through the ALGAE. Our Technical Team have quickly responded to this issue and we have replaced our PRV’s transparent filter cap to black solid synthetic material which does not allow Sunlight to pass through avoiding formation of ALGAE inside. Secondly the strength of this Black Filter Cap is much more than the Transparent Cap, hence giving extra life to Filter Cap.between Brass & SS-304 has already been explained in our Product technical information.
3. Alternate Pipe Design
We are the first PRV manufacturers who has come with an Alternate Pipe Design avoiding higher size of PRV like 65mm & above resulting not only in saving 50% of the cost done on PRV’s but also following better plumbing practice. Detail Technical Information has already been given in our Product Presentation. We here by feel proud on our self as this Alternate Pipe Design has been getting approvals from most of the MEP Consultants Pan India and have also done Two Projects in Mumbai and many are in process and soon this Pipe Design will have a Recognition in our Indian Plumbing Industry.
PRV Comparison: Sana’s Aqua Green (Sana’s)
- Brass contains Lead which is Toxic to Small Children below 8 years of age. SS-304 does not have Lead and is Environment Friendly.
- Brass contains Zinc which under goes a process called Dezincification were the Zinc portion gets Evaporated into the Atmosphere after few years depending upon the humidity (5 to 10 years), leaving Copper behind and resulting holes in the body and ultimately requires new valve. Were as the SS-304 body does not get effected from any climatic conditions and its Lifespan is almost 50 years and even more, so the problem of valve replacement never comes.
- Installed Brass Body Valve can get Stolen from the Site as resale value of Brass is high were as resale value of SS is very less.
- Brass is a soft metal and less durable and SS-304 is the Strongest Alloy so it’s a better option to withstand high pressure / high temperature & effectively resisting leaks through cracks from the body.
- Brass is able to withstand corrosion, however SS-304 is still the best in corrosion, especially in Marine Environment.

Benefits of In-Built Strainer
Function of PRV is to control the water pressure by cutting the water head when there is no demand of water. This is possible only when the PRV gets shutoff completely and restrict the flow further to downstream. But PRV’s which are without strainer does not get shutoff completely due to the solid particles that comes along with water, obstructing its Mechanism and not allowing the valve to close completely, resulting to a gap from which the water flows downstream and as per the Hydraulic Law , Pressure Transmits in Static Condition and hence the entire Pipeline will get Pressurized resulting to damages and that is the reason why recommends to install “Y” type Strainer before every PRV which is increasing the Cost ( strainer + fittings + labour). Were as Sana’s PRV comes with In-Built Strainer ensuring 24×7 working of PRV, Protecting all kind of Pressurized damages. So overall Sana’s PRV is 2in1 (PRV & Strainer) making it more cost effective.
Sana’s PRV has Internals of Light Weight comes with Heavy Metal Internals (HMI)
Benefits of Light Weight Internals (LWI)
- LWI will help PRV to reciprocates faster in opening to supply the demand of water / will not Vibrate, not affecting the pipe and its support / PRV will not make any howling or whistling sound. were as in PRV have heavy internals due to which opening is very sluggish creating howling sound and sometimes when Pressure & Flowrate is high, PRV’s make a loud Whistling sound which is very scary (especially children toilet) during night times.
- HMI PRV will over all make PRV very heavy, which will require a strong support (Bracket) to install, adding additional cost, were as Sana’s PRV does not require any support due to its Light weight.
- HMI PRV occupies more of place inside the Body affecting the Flow Area hence Flow Rate Loss is very high Were light weight internals helps PRV in maintaining the Flow Rate.

Benefits of Dual Opening
In Dual Opening PRV every part can be removed for cleaning or replacing any part. By removing every part the PRV becomes hollow so the entire PRV (body) can be cleaned from inside without removing the PRV from the Pipe, hence the maintenance of entire PRV including the Body is possible and its user friendly too assuring 24×7 working of the PRV which is the most important feature. Wear as the PRV is not Openable and hence the body cannot be cleaned from inside thus the Scaling which has got accumulated inside the body cannot be removed and narrowing the supply area due to which discharge of water gets affected and at one point of time the entire valve will have to be replaced. Whereas Sana’s make PRV will never ever require to be replaced. This is because the body is of SS-304 which is all most Life Long, so by just replacing the all internal (after warranty period is over & if at all required) at half the cost, your entire PRV will become as good as New PRV.
Sana’s is Dual Opening PRV whereas is not Openable
While works on piston operated technology (Old Technology)
Piston operated mechanism is not preferred in High Rise Towers as it does not control high pressures and whereas our PRV is able to withstand high pressures and is able to control to required pressure secondly the Reduction Ratio in Piston Operated PRV is lesser as to Sana’s Diaphragm Spring Loaded PRV so overall quantity of PRV’s increases in resulting to more of expense
Final and most important benefit
Brass as a metal is Costlier than SS-304 but the manufacturing process of SS is much higher than the Brass due to which the overall VALVE pricing of the SS-304 is high, but Sana’s Aqua Green Make PRV is giving SS-304 Body at the cost of Brass make PRV.
